The Laurel Laser & Surgery Centers (LLSC) are located adjacent to the
Laurel Eye Clinics in Brookville and Altoona, Pennsylvania. These
state of the art ambulatory surgery centers offer patients the very finest
in eye surgery in a beautiful facility designed and constructed specifically
for ophthalmic procedures. The Laurel Laser & Surgery Center in Brookville
was initially licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on June 6, 2000.
The Altoona facility was licensed on June 13, 2007.
Each facility houses two operating suites with preoperative and postoperative
nursing units. Beautifully designed reception areas, procedure viewing rooms,
and comfortable step-down lounges permit patients and their families to
experience the finest in outpatient ophthalmic surgical care.
The Brookville location additionally houses two laser suites, one of which is home
to the Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217 Excimer Laser used for LASIK and other vision
correction procedures.
The surgical teams as well as the ophthalmic nursing teams care only for eye surgery
patients, permitting them to focus on the specific needs of each patient.
Although the ambulatory surgery centers adjoin the Laurel Eye Clinic locations, they
operate and are licensed as separated entities.
Louis “Skip” Nichamin, MD, is the Medical Director of the Brookville location
and Stewart Van Horn, MD, is the Medical Director of the Altoona location.
