The Laurel Eye Clinic of Grove City, Pennsylvania is searching for a highly motivated, eager to learn, dedicated individual to join our growing practice as an Ophthalmic Assistant.  Experienced Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician, or individual with medical experience/background preferred. 

Job Duties:

• Obtain medical and social history.
• Perform vision screening procedures to include, but not limited to: visual acuity test, tonometry, ocular motility, clinical optics, refractions, and other duties as assigned.
• Accurately chart and document in patients chart recorded findings
• Administer diagnostic and therapeutic eye drops as requested
• Maintain patient flow
• Assist doctors with procedures
• Learn and master technological equipment
• Prepare and maintain exam and treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Patient teaching on various eye related information and procedures

Requirements:

• High school diploma with previous medical background, and/or LPN licensure
• COA or COT preferable, but will train with requirement to earn COA after one year of employment
• Ability to multitask in a fast past patient oriented environment
• Detail oriented with excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
• Willing to travel to alternate sites as needed
• CPR certification within 6 weeks of employment
