LAUREL EYE CLINIC MEDICAL DIRECTOR EARNS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Louis “Skip” Nichamin, MD, Medical Director of the Laurel Eye Clinic and the Laurel Laser & Surgery Center has been awarded the Senior Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).  This award is presented by the Board of Trustees of the AAO.  Dr. Nichamin joins a prestigious national group of eye surgeons recognized for volunteering their time to serve the AAO and furthering the profession of ophthalmology.  The award recognizes outstanding and valuable contributions to the programs and services offered by the American Academy of Ophthalmology.   A minimum of 10 years of service is necessary to be considered for the Senior Achievement Award.  Dr. Nichamin’s contributions to the AAO include but are not limited to: authoring or co-authoring educational papers or videos, instructing courses, moderating discussion groups, and chairing committees.

Laurel Laser &Surgery Center (LLSC) has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC/Accreditation Association). CENTER OF EXCELLENCE

DR. NICHAMIN RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

Dr. Louis “Skip” Nichamin of the Laurel Eye Clinic recently received a cer-tificate of appreciation from the Knights Templar Eye Foundation. This certificate was for “professional services rendered to a patient in need”.

Dr. Nichamin performed cataract surgery on Louise Anthony of Knox, PA in March. Prior to her surgery, Mrs. Anthony had dense cataracts in both eyes. This caused her vision to be blurry at all ranges. Driving, even during the day, was difficult. Mrs. Anthony had an outstanding surgical outcome. Following the procedure, her vision is 20/20 uncorrected, and she credits Dr. Nichamin for “changing my quality of life”. Mrs. Anthony wanted to share her experience so that others may be aware of the services offered by the Knights Templar Foundation for people like her who do not have insurance benefits available through their employers.

 

LAUREL EYE CLINIC RECEIVES AWARDS

The Laurel Eye Clinic was awarded the Business Hall of Fame Innovation Award by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce. The Clinic is one of twelve honorees in various categories.

The process begins with an anonymous nomination for the award. It is then up to the business to complete and submit the award application. The applications are reviewed by an impartial panel of judges. The judges then choose the recipients. Read More...
